The Terre di Sant’Erasmo table, limited edition of
only 100 numbered and branded pieces, is
inspired by the woodworking typical of the
Serenissima Republic of Venice in the seventeenth
century. In fact, one of the most used essences by
Venetian carpenters of the time is walnut, with
which the exclusive Terre di Sant’Erasmo series is
entirely made.
The master craftsmen used – and still we do today – to ennoble and decorate the furniture we produce. The solid wood of this exclusive collection is dyed with colored earths, natural pigments based on iron oxides and clay. Absorbed by the wood and retained within its pores, the natural lands give warm and soft tones, the same as the vegetable gardens of the Venetian island of Sant’Erasmo.
Another source of inspiration for Terre di Sant’Erasmo is cabinetmaking, with its refined inlay technique. By caressing the geometric pattern of the inlay in fine Italian walnut, which stands out in the center of the top, and the canaletto walnut frame that encloses it, you can perceive the wave effect left by the manual planing on the solid wood.
The top in solid wood 40 mm thick, oval shaped like a barrel, has four slightly convex sides and a shaped edge.
The West base gives a sense of infinity and freedom. Beyond every stylistic and language boundary and dictates in full Altacorte philosophy. It alludes to the lightness of a seagull’s wings for a surprising result from every point of view.
